2-factor authentication (2FA)

gradar offers two-factor authentication (2FA), which effectively protects a user account from unauthorized access. If it is active, gradar not only asks for the password when logging in, but also for a second factor. This is a code generated by a desktop or smartphone-based authenticator app such as Authy or Google Authenticator.

To set up 2FA, enable this option in your user account settings:

After clicking "Activate", you can use the displayed QP code or setup key to add this account in your 2FA application, such as Google Authenticator or Authy. You will receive a one-time password from the Authenticator. You must enter this in the corresponding field to complete the 2FA activation.

After setup, backup codes are displayed. You can use backup codes once to log in with, for example if you lose an authenticating smartphone. Please keep these backup codes in a safe place.
